On Wednesday, April 26th, we honor the birth and life of John James Audubon (April 26, 1785 - January 27, 1851). His extensive studies of American birds, detailed illustrations and research on birds in their natural habitats left a legacy. His work The Birds of America is still considered to be one of the finest ornithological works ever completed.
Encourage your family, friends and community to grab the binoculars, a good bird ID book (such as the pocket-sized, state specific field guide bird ID books by Adventure Publications), and see how many birds they can identify.
